“And when I live in senses’ heights,

There flames up deep within my soul

Out of the spirit’s fiery worlds

The gods’ own word of truth:

In spirit sources seek expectantly

To find your spirit kinship.”

The Calendar of the Soul by Rudolf Steiner, translated from the German by Ruth and Hans Pusch

Oh my gosh, the beauty of this verse!

Can you feel the difference in the elements here — so fiery?  So passionate?  So full of mighty action?  I can feel the intensity of the Hawaiian goddess Pele and Archangel Michael in this verse.

Also speaking the truth.  Sometimes it takes an inner fire to propel us toward right speech.  Courage and passion.

There will be times when we need the propulsion of fire to move us into position to receive our kinship with each other and with the divine.

Now, remember, friends.  Fire doesn’t equal anger.  Yes, sometimes anger is fiery.  But, that’s not what I’m talking about here.  Remember the picture of fire being transforming.  Remember the picture of the phoenix.  Destruction and resurrection.  Remember that some plants can only sprout once the seeds have been touched by fire.

Fire isn’t only pure destruction.  It is power.  It is used for cooking and melting, transforming things.  How can your inner fire transform a part of you?  How can you express the transformation?  And how will the transformation bring more in line with God’s purpose for you — and Your purpose for yourself?

Love to you today!
